  1. I have never experienced a problem with one of my friends posting a picture on his facebook profile of me that i did not want. I think photos that are appropriat for facebook are pictures with all clothes, with no hand gestures that they are making and no alchol in hands.

  2. I have never faced this problem before because I don't have a facebook or a myspace. Appropriate pictures are pictures that won't make anyone feel uncomfortable or things like that.

  3. I can see why managers would want to look on peoples online stuff, like myspace or facebook, because when you begin to work at a place, you then represent them, and who would want someone who bad mouths their old employers, or co-workers? But i can also see what the article is saying when it says toward the end, well where does a picture or something said, cross the line? I personally wouldn't want my boss looking at anything of mine, or someone who might want to employ me, not because i have anything to hide, but because i wouldn't want to just be based on what i do outside of work, because i am a hard worker, but i don' want to be judged unfairly. But i can see why employers are now looking at online stuff, and i guess it would be okay for future references if a boss of mine wanted to look at my myspace every once in awhile; i guess this can all go back to watch what you post, and if you wouldn't say it to a persons face, then don't even bother to post it.

  5. The second article shows that what you do in your spare time affects if you will get the job or not. I think the employer is smart to check these kind of things on a future employee. It is smart because this way the employer knows what kind of person he/she is hiring.

  6. I have never had a problem with facebook or myspace, simply because i don't see the need to have one. I also think that employers should look at their potential employees myspace or facebook to determine if they will get hired or not.

  7. I've never had a problem with social networking sites. Any pictures that you wouldn't want your dad to see is definitely a picture to not post, because dad's are usually the more stricter ones, and no one wants to face the wrath of Dadzilla.

  10. 1st article-
I've never had to deal with an unwanted photo on my facebook. If i did, i would just untag myself and ask the person to take it off of their profile. I think that if the picture has more than you'd see at a beach it isn't appropriate. Or if it contains drugs or alcohol.
    2nd article-
The second article says that when you try for a job, the employer may search you on Facebook to try to further decide if you'd be a good candidate for the job. Major factors they look at are pictures, what etiquette you use when talking to people, and if they catch anything involving drugs. The best thing you can do is keep your Facebook clean.

  11. The first article can offend anybody. The person that it is offending should just ask to see if the person that taged them to ask politely to take it down if not they can just untag themself. If it contains anything that facebook or myspace or whatever your using says that the kind of picture isn't aloud then tell them and see if they can take it down.

  14. I have never had a problem with any inappropriate pictures of me posted on Facebook. I think that pictures that would be inappropriate are ones that involve alcohol and othe substances. Also, when people make certain hand gestures or signs. You have to be very careful of the pictures you and other people post on Facebook because that stuff can be used against you in any situation.
The second article is about how employers are checking up on their candidates on all of their online profiles. Making sure there are no inappropriate photos, references to drugs and alcohol, or bad online communication skills. I think online profiles are a very good tool for employers to use. By checking out someones profile you can learn a lot about them. It is also a way that the employee could impress a boss or future emplpoyee if they clean it up and display yourself as a professional person.

  15. The second article tells you I think what the managers look for when they are hiring. I think the employer is smart to look at these kind of things on a future employee to make sure his history is right and to see if he is the right man for the job.

  17. I have read 5 Ways to Combat Unwanted Photos on facebook and no; I have never experienced this problem. I think appropriate pictures that are acceptable for facebook are ones that do not make you feel uncomfortable, or regretful, or could end up hurting you in the long run.
On the second article “More Employers Use Social Networks to Check Out Applicants” I found out that as I grow older , not only need to clean up for my job interview, I should also clean up my facebook page. This article explained that your future boss will probably look you up on facebook to check out your personal life. Browsing your facebook page will give this future boss a good outlook on who you are. The questions he would probably wonder like: Will they respect his/her co-workers? Will they be late for work the following day? These questions can all be answered by looking at your facebook. This article helps make job candidates aware that it is very important to clean up your facebook.

  18. The second article says that when your trying to get a job, the person that is hiring you can search a myspace, facebook, etc. to see if you would be a good enough person for the job. The boss looks at the pictures to see if they are proper, or if you like to drink or use drugs. The easiest thing to do is keep your myspace, facebook, etc. clean.

  19. i have never expierenced this problem ever. The right pictures that can be up there is people with all there clothes on. no acohol or drugs.

    The second article,
Employers can try and find you on facebook to seeif you are responsible enough to take the job you're going out for. the employers are smart for checking to see if they have any irresponsible pictures on there. i think they should look at there profile becuase they need more information on them, and how responsible tey can be.

  20. I have never had this promblem because I never had a facebook. I think that appropriate pictures would be like pictures with your family. Just don't put up pictures that would offend someone.
The Article basicly saids that when some employers employ an employee they go look at face book. Many people didn't get the job that way because of pictures of them doing bad stuff. Like doing drugs. Also because of the stuff they write about other people. I think thi is a smart way because you can than see their true personality.

  21. I have never experienced that type of problem because I don’t do Facebook or other social networking sites. I think pictures that are appropriate for social network sites are ones of yourself while you are doing something that is not indecent.

The article is about prospective bosses are looking at people’s Facebook account to look for a reason not to hire them. I think that it is good that they are looking because the prospective employee can’t hide things on Facebook that they could in an interview. 35% of people are not hired for a job because of what is on the social networking site. That is a lot of people not getting hired that could have been so I think I will never have a Facebook.

  22. I have never experienced “wild” photos on the internet or a cellular device. The picture shown with Miley Cyrus is not bad at all, she and her friend are just sticking their tongues out. If people consider that wild, then over half of teen pictures on Facebook and MySpace should be banned. I think all pictures are appropriate except bathing suits, and under garments. If you have pictures of you and your family at a water park, I don’t see the harm, just as long as nothing is showing, or hanging out.

I think the article goes both ways. I think that managers should lookup a future employee’s facebook or MySpace. It gives them an idea of who they are. If they are out partying all the time I wouldn’t want to hire them because they might not show up from being too tired or hung-over. It could also have some advantages for the future employee. If it shows you being charitable or nice, or in general makes you seem like a good person and all together, where ever you apply, they might actually look at your profile and hire you.

  23. I have never experienced this problem before. If there is an unwanted picture of you on facebook then remove the tag. If that doesn't work talk to the person who put the picture on facebook and convince them to delete the picture. In my opinion appropriate pictures include no drug use, alcohol, inappropriate hand gestures, and wearing clothes.

The second article was about how managers check their employees facebook, myspace, twitter, etc. I can understand why they would do this. It help them find out what they do outside of their job. If they can find anything inappropriate they can use it against the employee. Some of the things they might find can lead to firing the employee.

  24. I never had this problem because i don't put pictures on myspace that much and i don't put any pictures on there that my family could see that they may not like. I think that appropriate pictures are one that don't have some one doing any thing bad or showing any thing bad in the pictures.

In the second article talks about what you put on the internet could effect if you could get the job you want. The employer should look at the persons myspace or facebook profiles because they could be a bad employee depending what is on there profiles.

  25. I admit I'm surprised so many of you don't have a Facebook or Myspace account. Keep in mind, if you do sign up for one, be cautious on what you post and how you set-up your profile. Private is the safest but once photos are on the web there are always people who try to find ways around safeguards setup. Never post images you don't want parents or professionals to see - be appropriate.

As far as employers - you may not like it that they look at these things but they do. Another reason to be appropriate.
