The women only used her debit card, which has her bank account number on it.
ReplyDeleteI feel that ID theft is common these days, because alot of people are naive and think this could never happen to me, but it can.
People who are trying to steal your identity would need to have your Social Security number, bank statements, drivers license, and etc.
To protect your identity i would not carry around important/personal documents. If you have to i would put it in a pocket on you. Don't leave your purse or briefcase unattended, because someone could go and steal personal information about you.
I would blame both people for the identity theft, because first of all the victim needs to keep a better eye out on whats going on with his/her money, and not to be naive and leave important personal information out in the open. The ID theft is to blame to, its a crime to do this, and the victim works hard to provide themselves with what they had worked for.
1. The women made mistakes which lead to her identity stolen because she used her debit card more than she should have.
ReplyDelete2. I feel it is such a big problem because people become careless and will give out personal information to anyone.
3. Some things that a person would need to steal someone’s identity are their social security number, debit card, credit card, passport, or license.
4. Some ideas that I would suggest to someone to protect their identity is to not carry around your social security number in their wallet, shred up old documents that contain important information, and do not give out information to just anyone.
5. I feel that the person to blame in this situation is the person who is not protecting themselves from identity theft. They are the one who leaked their information out to others because they weren’t being protective of their identity. They are naïve to think that identity theft would not happen to them.
The woman used mostly her debit card, and using your debit card too much makes it easier to have your id stolen.
ReplyDeleteId theft is such a big problem because the economy is really bad, and people are more willing to do whatever they can, in order to get money.
Anything that has your social security number, a credit or debit card, or anything with your personal information on it.
Some ideas to help keep your id safe is to not over-use your debit cad, don't carry your social security number, don't give out an personal information that is not needed, and when in doubt call your bank.
The person that stole the identity of the woman is to blame because no one can make you do something like that, but the woman who got her identity stolen should have been more careful.

ReplyDeleteThe woman used her identity theft regularly and the person took her identity.
ReplyDeletePeople don't shred paper, or they don't keep track on how they use there cards.
If people are trying to steal your identity would need to have your Social Security number, bank statements, and etc.
If its a social security number, memorize it and put the document in a safe place at home, you should even do that with all important documents. Don't leave purses or briefcases in the open for others to be able to take it and take stuff out of it.
The people I would blame is the person that is taking the identity and the people thats getting it stolen. I would blame the ID Theft stealer because they should mind there own business and not steal it. I would blame the people thats getting it taken because they gave the information to the people.
The women used her debit card too much and it made it easy for her ID to get stolen.
ReplyDeleteI think identity theft is such a promblem because the economy is bad and many people lost their job so they need some money. The easy way to get fast money is stealing some ones ID.
The people would need your social security number, drivers liscense and bank statements to steal your ID.
Don't keep your social security number in your purse or wallet. You should try to remeber it. Also when someone says that their from a company and they ask for information ask for their name and then call them back through the company.
I would say both because first of all stealing someones identity is wrong and illegal. Then it's also the victims fault because many people have been informed of this promblem and they should be more careful but many think that this will not happen to them.
The woman made the mistake of paying for everything with just her debit card. I think ID theft is a common problem in our time because of the unemployment rate is rising and people don't have jobs and its easier for some people to steal than to make their own money. To steal someone's identity they would need to have the persons social security number, full name, address and phone number. To help someone to protect their identity I would tell them to check their credit report annually and not to give out unneeded information to someone who doesn't need it. The person to blame is the person who stole the ID because they are the ones who are actually doing a federal crime.

ReplyDelete(absent) 1. She uses her debit card for all purchases. 2. I.D. theft is such a big problem because it is so difficult to track down the perpetrators. 3. A person just needs your name and card number. It's even worse when that person has your social security number. 4. Keep all your numbers private and don't let anyone borrow your cards. 5. I think both people are responsible because the person didn't focus on protecting his/her information and it's a crime so it is the other persons fault too.
1. Women made mistakes for making all her purchases with her debit card.
ReplyDelete2. I.D. theft is such a big problem in the U.S. because it is so hard to track the person down who stole that persons I.D..
3. Someone who steals someone elses debit card needs that persons social seceruity number, passport or license.
4. Keep all your numbers private and dont let anyone else use your debit cards.
5.I feel that the person to blame in this situation is the person who is not protecting themselves from identity theft. They are the one who sent their information out to others because they weren’t being protective of their identity. They are dumb to think that identity theft would not happen to them.
